// THE BRIEF

The admin panel had become the bottleneck.

Accounting teams were reconciling millions of transactions in a Rails admin that took seconds per click. Ledgerwise needed a rebuilt workspace that felt instant, worked entirely from the keyboard, and could ship without freezing the existing product.

// WHAT SHIPPED
  1. 01Virtualised data grid handling 2M+ rows at 60fps
  2. 02Command palette and full keyboard navigation
  3. 03Rule-based auto-matching with an audit trail
  4. 04Incremental migration behind feature flags

// HARD PARTS

What made it difficult, and how it got solved.

01

Millions of rows in a browser

Windowed rendering, streamed pagination and a worker-side filter engine kept the grid responsive on ordinary laptops.

02

Migrating without a freeze

Each screen shipped behind a flag and ran alongside the old admin until usage proved it out.

03

Trust in automation

Every auto-match shows why it happened and can be reverted in one keystroke, which drove adoption.

“Our team stopped dreading month-end. That's the whole review.”
